A RAM 2500 is built for serious work, but even a heavy duty truck will squat and sway when you load it to the limit. If you pull equipment, haul material, or tow a fifth wheel for a living, that rear sag changes how the truck steers, how it brakes, and how settled it feels when a crosswind hits. Timbren's DR2500D Rear SES Kit was built for contractors, ranchers, and tow rig owners who depend on their truck every day. The Aeon hollow rubber springs stiffen as the load goes up, so the support kicks in on its own without you touching a switch or watching a pressure gauge. That progressive action works against squat, sway, and rear roll, which keeps the truck level and steady whether you are towing an RV across the country or hauling hay down the highway. When the truck is empty, a built in gap between the spring and the frame lets it ride comfortably instead of feeling stiff. Unlike air bags, there are no lines to check and no compressor to maintain, and Timbren says you can install the kit and be back to work in under 30 minutes from your driveway. For a work truck that hauls and tows on a regular basis, this is a simple way to keep the rear end under control.
The Timbren DR2500D is a rear SES suspension kit engineered for 2014-2026 RAM 2500 trucks in both 4WD and 2WD configurations. It is built around two patented Aeon SES suspensions, which are hollow rubber springs that deliver a progressive spring rate. As load increases, the springs push back harder, which reduces squat, sway, and roll. After installation, there should be a gap of 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches between the rubber spring and the vehicle frame, and that gap is what keeps the ride comfortable when the truck is unloaded. The kit is rated for 8,600 pounds of capacity. Kit height is 5.75 inches without the 1 inch spacer and 6.75 inches with it, and the box includes two 1 inch rubber spacers, two steel mounting brackets, and all necessary hardware. The system needs no post-installation maintenance and carries a lifetime warranty. Timbren points out that adding this upgrade increases the spring rate but does not increase the truck's Gross Vehicle Weight Rating, so the load must never exceed the GVWR set by the manufacturer.
