The FOX 987-24-045 front shock is purpose-built for 2014–2025 RAM 2500 and 2013–2025 RAM 3500 trucks with a front lift of 2 to 3 inches. At the core is a 2.5-inch impact-extruded 6061-T6 aluminum body that increases oil volume for improved cooling and fade resistance under pressure. This body is treated with a Type II clear-anodized finish that resists corrosion in wet, dirty, or salty environments. Internally, the shock separates nitrogen gas from the oil using an Internal Floating Piston (IFP), which prevents aeration and maintains precise damping. The Hydraulic Top Out piston adds rebound control at full extension, which helps reduce shock load during quick suspension unloads, especially valuable with aggressive tire setups or additional front-end weight. With 7.69 inches of travel and a robust 5/8-inch hard chrome shaft, the shock offers both articulation and durability. Designed with a stem top and eyelet bottom mount, it installs easily into factory-style brackets.
