Warm Your Fuel Before The Filter Sees It On Those Subfreezing Mornings

Cold mornings are hard on a diesel because the fuel itself gets thick and can start to wax, which is the last thing you want reaching your filter. The Fleece plug and play heater upgrade is built to warm the fuel before that happens. It installs on your Fleece Performance under bed fuel filter base, which has a heater provision built in. The heater switches on when the fuel temperature drops to about 28 degrees Fahrenheit and switches off again at about 48 degrees, so it works on its own as the temperature changes. At typical fuel flow rates, Fleece says the fuel picks up between 4 and 8 degrees as it passes the heating element. That extra warmth helps the fuel keep moving when the temperature drops. It is also an easy add on if you already run the Fleece filter base, because you are only adding the heater and not replacing anything. For a 2019 to 2024 Cummins that works through the winter, it is a simple way to give the fuel system some cold weather protection.

Switching Points, Temperature Rise, And What The Heater Needs To Work

The Fleece FPE-FH-CUMM-1924 is a plug and play fuel heater upgrade for 2019-2024 RAM 2500 and 3500 trucks with the 6.7L Cummins. It is for use only on trucks equipped with the Fleece Performance fuel filter base FPE-CUMM-UBFA-1324, and the older base FPE-CUMM-UBFA-1924, which has been superseded to the 1324, also has the heater provision. The heater switches on at 28.4 degrees Fahrenheit, plus or minus 5.4, and switches off at 48.2 degrees, plus or minus 5.4. At typical fuel flow rates, Fleece says the temperature rises between 4 and 8 degrees across the heating element. Owners of 2013-2018 trucks need a different heater, part number FPE-FH-CUMM-1318. Fleece notes that its filter base does not fit Cab and Chassis applications. The heater is covered by a 6 month limited parts warranty.
