It adds just the right amount of power to get heavy loads moving without stressing the engine or pushing temperatures too far. You will notice stronger low-end torque, better gear holding on grades, and less hunting between gears when the truck is under load. The tune is designed to let you shift up and throttle back, which helps the truck stay relaxed even when the work gets tough. It keeps all factory emissions equipment intact, so there is no tradeoff between performance and compliance. Factory turbo brake functionality is also retained, which is a big deal when descending hills with weight behind you. Purpose Built Calibration For Heavy Tow Applications

This Heavy Tow Tune is a custom ECM calibration developed specifically for 2016 Ford F250 and F350 6.7L Powerstroke chassis cab trucks that tow regularly. It includes more than 100 calibration changes focused on safe torque delivery, improved throttle response, and consistent performance under sustained load. Power increases are kept moderate at +30 RWHP and +66 ft-lbs to support towing up to 8,000 lbs GVW without excessive exhaust gas temperatures. Built-in SMART EGT control automatically manages heat, while refined air-fuel ratio limits help reduce soot production. The tune works seamlessly with factory systems and does not require cutting wires or modifying sensors. It is compatible with HP Tuners RTD hardware and requires ECM credits to flash. For trucks with heavier service bodies or frequent hill towing, optional transmission tuning is strongly recommended to fully match the new torque curve and maximize drivability.
