Cognito SM Series Upper Control Arms use welded boxed sheet metal construction with a semi gloss black powder coated finish, plus maintenance free ball joints and pivot bushings that arrive preinstalled. Corrected ball joint positioning increases allowable droop travel for lifted applications, which helps preserve suspension movement and contributes to better ride quality across uneven surfaces. The included Cognito 2.0 Remote Reservoir Aluminum Shocks use external reservoirs for increased oil capacity and improved heat dissipation, helping reduce oil aeration and maintain consistent damping under demanding conditions. Factory tuned precision valving is engineered specifically around GM HD trucks, providing controlled road manners while keeping suspension response predictable during off road driving. Installation is rated at approximately 13 hours for a DIY project, and Cognito specifies that an impact tool must not be used when securing the ball joint stud to the spindle, with torque not to exceed 50 ft lbs.
