A floating dividing piston separates the gas and oil inside the shock, helping deliver consistent fade free performance during repeated compression and rebound cycles. The remote reservoir increases available oil capacity and improves heat dissipation, making the design especially useful when a heavy truck spends extended time working over uneven surfaces. Bilstein pairs this construction with self adjusting deflective disc valving that reacts quickly to changing surface conditions for controlled suspension response.
