The ICON 77738P 2.5 inch VS Extended Travel Piggyback Front Shocks are built for 2011-2016 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD trucks running 6 to 8 inches of lift. Their extended travel design is a great match for suspension setups that need additional movement, while ICON's vehicle specific length and damping tune keep performance focused on the truck they were designed to support. Piggyback reservoirs provide additional oil capacity and help manage heat, making them well suited for long dirt roads and demanding conditions where the shocks may cycle repeatedly. When the suspension gets pushed close to full compression, ICON's internal Bump Zone increases damping by 20 percent to help control hard impacts before they turn into harsh bottom outs. Built Around Strength Travel And Control

The 77738P uses a nitrogen charged monotube design with a piggyback reservoir to increase fluid capacity and support consistent damping during prolonged suspension activity. Inside each shock, a one piece digressive piston works with vehicle specific valving to provide controlled response both on the road and across uneven terrain. Premium grade 5WT shock oil is used to maintain consistent damping through a wide range of temperatures, while the reservoir helps dissipate heat that builds as the suspension cycles. ICON combines an impact extruded aluminum cylinder with CNC machined 6061 aircraft grade aluminum components for corrosion resistance and dependable construction. Each shock also features a 7/8 inch induction hardened chrome plated shaft and PTFE lined spherical bearings to handle repeated suspension movement with minimal unwanted deflection. Installation requires aftermarket upper control arms equipped with high angle ball joints, making that an important part of planning the complete suspension setup before these shocks go on the truck. Additionally, the shocks are fully rebuildable and revalveable and can be upgraded with ICON Compression Damping Control Valve technology if greater compression tuning becomes a priority later.
