PRODUCT DETAIL
Features:
Once your heavy duty GM is sitting 6 to 8 inches higher than stock, having the ability to fine tune the front suspension can completely change how you enjoy the truck. The ICON 77738CP 2.5 inch VS Extended Travel Piggyback CDCV Front Shocks bring that control to 2011-2016 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD applications. Instead of locking you into one compression setting, the external CDC valve provides 10 levels of adjustment with a simple turn of the knob, making it easy to change the feel as your driving needs evolve. You can soften the compression response for everyday cruising or increase damping when rough terrain and demanding conditions call for greater suspension control. ICON's internal Bump Zone adds another layer of confidence by increasing damping force 20 percent as the shock approaches full compression, helping manage those hard hits that can quickly overwhelm a lifted suspension. The piggyback reservoirs also improve heat management during prolonged use, helping the shocks maintain consistent performance when the road stays rough for miles at a time. With extended travel capability and application specific tuning working together, this pair gives your lifted Silverado or Sierra the adjustability to feel more at home across a much wider range of driving conditions.
The ICON 77738CP starts with a nitrogen charged monotube design that combines a piggyback reservoir with vehicle specific valving and a one piece digressive piston. Its CDC valve restricts oil flow into the reservoir and provides 10 compression damping settings, allowing the driver to mechanically adjust shock response without changing internal components. Premium grade 5WT shock oil helps maintain consistent damping across a broad temperature range, while the reservoir improves heat dissipation during repeated suspension cycling. ICON uses a precision machined 1026 DOM steel shock body with CAD plating, along with CNC machined 6061 aircraft grade aluminum components for durability and corrosion resistance. A 7/8 inch induction hardened chrome plated shaft provides the strength needed for demanding suspension movement, while PTFE lined spherical bearings support precise operation at the mounting points. Because these are extended travel shocks, installation requires aftermarket upper control arms equipped with high angle ball joints to properly support the increased suspension travel. Additionally, each shock is fully rebuildable and revalveable, giving owners the ability to service or retune the suspension as the truck's setup and intended use change over time.
Fitment: 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 GM Silverado/Sierra 2500HD/3500HD w/ 6-8" Front Lift
