Their piggyback reservoirs provide additional fluid capacity and help move heat away from the shock during extended periods of hard suspension use. When a deep rut or sudden drop sends the suspension toward full compression, ICON's internal Bump Zone adds 20 percent more damping force to help control the impact and reduce harsh bottom outs. That progressive increase in control is especially valuable on lifted trucks that regularly encounter rough access roads, uneven worksites, and off road terrain where suspension movement can become aggressive in a hurry. Aluminum construction provides excellent corrosion resistance, while the substantial 7/8 inch shock shafts are built to handle repeated suspension cycling under demanding conditions. Precision Damping Starts Inside The Shock

The ICON 77736P combines a nitrogen charged monotube layout with a piggyback reservoir to provide the fluid volume and heat management needed for sustained suspension performance. A one piece digressive piston works with vehicle specific valving to control compression and rebound characteristics for the intended Silverado and Sierra application. ICON fills each shock with premium grade 5WT oil, which is formulated to deliver consistent damping performance across a wide range of operating temperatures. The shock assembly uses CNC machined 6061 aircraft grade aluminum components along with an impact extruded aluminum cylinder for strength, corrosion resistance, and a consistent finish. A 7/8 inch induction hardened chrome plated shaft handles suspension loads, while PTFE lined spherical bearings help maintain precise movement at the mounting points. As the shock nears full compression, the internal Bump Zone increases damping by 20 percent to provide an additional layer of control during high velocity compression events. Additionally, the shocks are fully rebuildable and revalveable, allowing them to be serviced or retuned and providing a path to optional ICON Compression Damping Control Valve technology.
