Features:
There is something satisfying about passing a fuel station knowing you have plenty of diesel left for the road ahead. The S&B 10-1015-2 64 Gallon High Capacity Fuel Tank brings that freedom to 2011-2019 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD Crew Cab Long Bed trucks equipped with the 6.6L Duramax. Its approximately 64 gallon capacity means fewer interruptions on long towing trips, cross country drives, and busy workdays where every stop takes time away from the job. S&B manages that additional capacity while dropping only about 2 inches below the original tank, helping preserve practical ground clearance for everyday driving and trips beyond the pavement. When it is finally time to refuel, compatibility with high flow truck stop pumps lets the nozzle fill automatically, making a big tank much more convenient to top off on the road. The tank also works with the factory sending unit and arrives with new installation hardware and heavy duty mounting components, giving you a well integrated upgrade instead of a collection of parts to piece together. For a long bed Duramax that regularly works far from home, this tank gives you the capacity to plan stops around your trip instead of planning your trip around fuel stops.
S&B engineered the 10-1015-2 as a 64 gallon midship tank that works with the factory fuel sending unit while adding substantial capacity to compatible 2011-2019 Duramax trucks. After filling the tank, the factory gauge remains at full until approximately 4 to 5 gallons have been consumed, then begins moving through its normal range. In some situations, the truck may temporarily move the gauge to empty because its computer is monitoring for an inoperative gauge, but restarting the engine returns the reading to its expected position. GM's distance to empty calculation cannot be reprogrammed for the larger capacity, so drivers should expect the displayed remaining range to show approximately half of the actual available mileage. Additionally, the larger bottom surface area means more diesel remains in reserve when the low fuel indicator comes on compared with the original tank. Optimized venting allows the tank to work with high flow commercial pumps and supports automatic nozzle operation, which makes filling 64 gallons considerably more practical during long distance travel. Buyers should also know that the tank sits approximately 2 inches lower than the original unit and does not work with the factory skid plate, making both details important to consider before installation.
