An OEM style S&B sending unit is included with the tank, along with the necessary mounting straps for installation. The tank also incorporates a 1/2 inch NPT embedded fitting and is transfer pump ready, providing useful flexibility for owners planning additional fueling equipment. Because GM's distance to empty system cannot be reprogrammed for an aftermarket high capacity tank, the displayed mileage will indicate approximately half of the actual remaining driving range. S&B also notes that the larger bottom surface area leaves a greater fuel reserve when the low fuel indicator comes on, so the warning behaves differently than drivers may be accustomed to with the original tank.
