Banks Power | Monster Exhaust Install on a Ford 6.7L

4-inch heavy-duty stainless DPF-back Monster Exhaust system with constant-diameter intermediate pipe and tailpipe. Exclusive CoolCuff design lowers tailpipe temperatures as much or more than stock while simultaneously improving flow and cutting backpressure. Tested and refined by Banks engineers using Computational Fluid Dynamics software, then validated through extensive temperature testing in all areas: before and after the DPF, 6-inch out from the tip, by the spare tire, shocks, wiring, hoses, and more. The system includes Banks exclusive 6-inch X 5-inch ob-round (patented design) angle-cut rolled-edge tailpipe tip in your choice of polished chrome-over stainless or high-temp black! And to help keep it looking good, there's a 1/2-inch air gap to keep heat from tarnishing the finish. An adjustable clamp lets you position it on the tailpipe just right. Please note: These exhaust systems do not fit Cab/Chassis models.

The tools needed for this install will include:

  • Lubricant or penetrating oil
  • Tape Measure | Marker | and Reciprocating saw to trim the Intermediate Pipe.
  • Pry Bar
  • Ratchet or Impact Wrench
  • 15mm Socket
  • 24mm Wrench
  • Torque Wrench

Starting off we will hit all the rubber hangers and the 3 DPF Bolts with penetrating oil to allow for easier removal.

Remove the 3 nuts holding the DPF and midpipe together using a 15mm socket.

Locate the NOX Sensor just above the rear axle, use a 24mm wrench to loosen and remove from the pipe.

Using a pry bar, pop the hangers pins out of the rubber hangers, and remove the tailpipe from the rear of the truck.

Remove the gasket off the DPF Pipe, and re-install the new supplied gasket.

Using Banks Diagram, measure and trim the intermediate pipe to fit the configuration of the truck.

Install the intermediate pipe and tighten with the supplied nuts

Insert a band clamp onto the over axle pipe and slide the hanger pins into the rubber hangers

Do not tighten down band clamp yet, we will want to adjust the tailpipe and over axle pipe accordingly to get the desired fit and angle.

Slip the tailpipe section on, and re-thread in the factory nox sensor.

Install the last band clamp on the tip, and insert the tip on to tailpipe.

Snug down the band clamps, while adjusting the pipes to their desired location.

Adjust the tip so the flat side is parallel to the ground and the tip comes out flush or just past the body line.

Once the pipe sections and tip are snug where they need to be, run through and give all the nuts and claps a final torque of 50lbs.
