Full Force Diesel 6.0 Power Stroke Injectors: The Complete Buyer's Guide
The 6.0L Power Stroke has a reputation, and a big part of it traces back to the injectors. They're the most common thing to act up on a 6.0, and they're also the most effective single upgrade once the engine is healthy. This guide walks you through the Full Force Diesel 6.0L lineup: what each injector size does, how much power and towing capability it gives up or gains, what your fuel system and engine need to support it, and how to pick the right set without overbuying.
We sell and install these on 6.0L Super Dutys regularly, so this is how to actually choose, not a spec sheet copied off a box.
Why 6.0L injectors are the first thing to look at
The 6.0L Power Stroke uses a HEUI fuel system, which means the injectors are fired by high-pressure engine oil. That design makes them sensitive to oil quality, oil pressure, and the FICM (fuel injection control module). When a 6.0 develops a rough cold start, a miss, a surge, or a buck under load, a worn or sticking injector is one of the usual suspects, often from injector "stiction" where varnished oil keeps the spool valve from moving freely when cold.
Because of that, a fresh set of injectors does two jobs on a 6.0L. It cures the drivability gremlins that plague high-mileage trucks, and it opens the door to real, clean power. Full Force builds their 6.0L injectors from premium remanufactured cores using updated internal parts and brand-new spool valves, which is what addresses the stiction problem head-on. Every set carries an 18-month, unlimited-mileage warranty.
The Full Force 6.0L injector lineup, explained
Full Force offers 6.0L injectors in a range of sizes, listed by CC (the injector body's fuel volume) and a nozzle percentage over stock. Bigger CC and bigger nozzle means more power potential, but also a higher demand on your fuel system, your engine internals, and your tuning, and less towing headroom. One term worth decoding: nozzle percentage (the "30" in 175/30) is how far the nozzle is opened over stock. For street and tow trucks, a 30% nozzle is the sweet spot. It flows enough fuel to support big power yet stays small enough to atomize cleanly and keep EGTs in check. Bigger nozzles are for race fuel delivery and need tuning and airflow to match.
How to choose the right Full Force 6.0L injector
Two numbers decide most of this: how much you tow, and how big your fuel system is. Work through these in order.
1. Tow heavy? Stay small. The 155cc is the towing injector. It pulls hard and stays cool. By 175cc you start trading away some towing headroom for power, and at 190cc and up, towing is no longer the point. If your 6.0 spends its life behind a trailer, the 155 is almost always the right call.
2. Know your fuel-system ceiling. A healthy stock fuel system supports the 155cc, and the 175cc with a stock or 30% nozzle. Anything larger than 175cc needs a fuel system upgrade to feed it properly. If you're eyeing 190cc or 205cc, budget for the fuel side at the same time or you'll starve the injectors.
3. Do the head studs first. The 6.0L head gasket is the engine's well-known weak point, and added power is exactly what pushes a marginal gasket over the edge. ARP head studs are the foundation of any 6.0 power build. If you're adding injectors and tuning, plan studs into the same job.
4. Add tuning past stock-nozzle. Stock and 155cc injectors behave on factory programming, but to actually use a bigger nozzle and protect the engine you want custom tuning that manages timing, fuel, and EGTs.
5. Make sure the support system is healthy. On a 6.0, injectors are only as good as the oil and electronics behind them. A strong HPOP, clean high-quality oil, and a healthy FICM are what let the injectors fire consistently. Sort those out before blaming a new set for a rough start.
Our recommendations by goal
- "My 6.0 runs rough and I just want it right." OEM-spec reman injectors with new spool valves. Cures stiction and misses, no tuning or hardware changes needed.
- "Daily driver and tow rig, want more without losing towing." 155cc with a 30% nozzle. The best all-around 6.0 injector. Stock fuel and turbo are fine.
- "Heavy tow plus some fun, willing to tune." 175cc / 30% with tuning and ARP head studs. Up to roughly 550 HP while still towing.
- "Performance build." 190cc with a fuel system upgrade, tuning, studs, and a supporting turbo.
- "Race / max effort." 205cc on a fully built, fully fueled engine. Not a tow setup.
What else you need in the build
Injectors don't make power in a vacuum, and on a 6.0 the supporting cast matters more than on almost any other diesel:
- ARP head studs: the foundation of any 6.0 power build. Do them before or with the injectors.
- Fuel system upgrade: required above 175cc, so the injectors get the volume they're sized for.
- Tuning: to control timing and fuel and keep EGTs in check once you pass stock nozzles.
- Healthy HPOP and oil: consistent high-pressure oil is what fires HEUI injectors. Use the right oil and keep it clean.
- FICM health: a weak FICM mimics injector problems. Verify it before and after the swap.
- Turbo capacity: bigger injectors need more air to use the extra fuel.
- Gauges: at minimum EGT and boost, so you can monitor the engine under the new fueling.
Build the truck as a system and a 6.0 will surprise people. Throw big injectors at a tired engine and you'll be chasing problems instead of enjoying it.
Fitment and what to know before you order
- These injectors fit the 2003-2007 Ford F-250/F-350 6.0L Power Stroke.
- Plan to refresh the surrounding service items while the injectors are out: a fresh oil and filter change with the correct spec oil, and an inspection of the FICM and high-pressure oil system.
- If your truck has been sitting or runs rough only when cold, that points toward stiction, which a fresh Full Force set with new spool valves is built to solve.
